Green India Challenge to plant 1 crore sapling on KCR's birthday
By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 Feb 2021 1:45 PM GMTHyderabad: To turn Chief Minister KCR's vision of a green Telangana into a reality, Green India Challenge has proposed to plant one crore saplings (koti vrukshaarchana) on the eve of KCR's birthday.
The plantation program has been taken by the RS MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar. The poster for the event was launched by TRS working president and minister K.T.Rama Rao on 6 February in the presence of ministers, MLAs, and MPs.
KTR requested all public representatives to participate in the event and make it successful. He appreciated party general secretary and MP Santosh for taking up this initiative.
Ministers Mahamood Ali and Talasani Srinivas Yadav said the program should be taken up by all sarpanches and should be organised in coordination with the forest and panchayat raj departments. Meanwhile, the Green India Challenge has also decided to give 'Vanamali' award to all those who take part in the plantation.
Representatives of Green India Challenge, Karunakar Reddy and Raghava, said all those who want to participate in the event may send GIC to WhatsApp number 9000365000. After sending the message, they will receive a link to download an app. The participants are advised to upload their selfie after planting three saplings on the app. Within a week they will receive a message from the CM and the Vanamali award through WhatsApp or email.
The organisers said the one crore sapling program will begin at 10 a.m on 17 February and last for an hour.
