Hyderabad: With an eye on the by-election, Telangana government has decided to conduct a day-long orientation programme on ` Dalita Bandhu Scheme' before its formal launch in the Huzurabad assembly constituency.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao said the orientation programme will be held at Pragathi Bhavan on July 26.

`Telangana Dalita Bandhu Scheme' is being introduced in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency as a pilot project.

The day-long orientation programme for implementation, monitoring and future action plan will start from 11 am

Four members from each village, (two men and two women), and the four members (two men and two women) from each Municipality ward would take part in the programme. Around 412 Dalit men and women from the Huzurabad Assembly segment will participate.

Along with them, 15 resource persons would also participate. In all, 427 Dalit men and women from the Huzurabad assembly segment would participate in the orientation programme.

"On July 26, participants would reach Mandal Headquarters by 7 AM from their villages. After breakfast, they will reach Huzurabad Town in government-organized buses. They will pay tributes to Babasaheb Ambedkar statue at Huzurabad and reach Pragathi Bhavan by 11 AM," said KCR.

KCR will explain the main objective of Dalita Bandhu Scheme during the programme.

The CM would explain the aims and objectives of the scheme and how it will benefit the Dalits and marginalized community.
