Huzurabad by-poll: KTR challenges Revanth to secure deposit of his party candidate
TRS working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the Congress of fielding a dummy candidate to benefit BJP’s Eatala Rajendar in the Huzurabad by-poll.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 20 Oct 2021 3:36 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the Congress of fielding a dummy candidate to benefit BJP's Eatala Rajendar in the Huzurabad by-poll.
KTR alleged that Congress and BJP had colluded to defeat the TRS like they had done in Nizamabad and Karimnagar Lok Sabha seats during the 2019 election. Despite this, the TRS would win Huzurabad, he said.
KTR challenged the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A Revanth Reddy to secure the deposit of his party candidate in the by-poll.
He alleged that the Congress party was 'hand in glove' with the BJP by fielding a dummy candidate in the by-election. KTR clarified that he would not campaign in the by-poll. KTR said he had also not campaigned in Nagarjunasagar and Dubbaka by-elections too.
TRS Working President said Chief Minister's election campaign programme is yet to be finalized. He said KCR aspiring for the Vice President Post is propaganda of WhatsApp University. "The situation will arise when Chandrashekar Rao will enter national politics," he said.
He said that BJP candidate Etela Rajender and former party MP G Vivek will join the Congress party after some time. "A young candidate of TRS defeated K Jana Reddy in the Nagarjuna Sagar by-poll. BJP candidate Eatala Rajender is not a bigger leader than Jana Reddy. Neither Eatala accepts BJP as his own nor does the BJP. That is why he is not chanting the Jai Sri Ram slogan," he said.
Questioning why Revanth Reddy did not take Political Sanyas after defeat in Kodangal Assembly constituency, KTR asked why the former is not taking part in Huzurabad by-poll campaign.
Ten nominations were filed proposing the Chief Minister to get re-elected as the TRS president, he said. KTR asked people not to plan travel in TSRTC buses on November 15 because these are being utilized for the `Telangana Vijaya Garjana' meeting to be held at Warangal.
He said that a team of TRS leaders led by him will visit Tamil Nadu after November 15, to study the strong organizational structure of AIADMK and DMK.
KTR said both the AIADMK and the DMK had survived for generations. "We have decided to study their model," he said.
KTR recalled that in combined Andhra Pradesh, right from 1956, only two political parties - TDP and TRS have survived. He disagreed with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin for NEET abolition. A decision to this effect has to be taken keeping in mind the wellbeing of the students, he said.
