Huzurabad goes to polls on 30th Oct, counting on 2nd Nov

The Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced that the Huzurabad by-poll will be held on 30 October, 2021. The votes will be counted on 2nd November.

Hyderabad: The Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced that the Huzurabad by-polls will be held on 30 October 2021. While the counting will be done on 2nd November. While the BJP in Telangana has already fielded former TRS minister Eatala Rajender and TRS has picked Gellu Srinivas Yadhav, the Congress is yet to announce their candidate.

The Election Commission of India has announced the polling and counting schedule for three parliament constituencies and 30 assembly seats. While elections to Badvel constituency in Andhra Pradesh will also be held on 30th October.

The Huzurabad Assembly seat fell vacant after former Telangana health minister Eatala Rajender resigned on June 12 after he was removed from the cabinet over land encroachment. Later, he joined Bharatiya Janata Party. The date of issue of notification for the election is on October 1. The last date of filing the nomination is on October 8. The last date of withdrawal of candidature is on October 13. The election commission also said that the model code of conduct shall be in the constituency district with immediate effect.

In view of the announcement, BJP''s face for Huzurabad Eatala Rajender is scheduled to hold a press conference on 28th September (Tuesday) afternoon.
