Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Friday instructed officials to fill the 50,000 vacancies in all departments and start the first phase of the recruitment process immediately.
In the second phase, vacancies created after giving promotions should be taken up, KCR said.
This comes after the President of India gave his assent to the state's new zonal system clearing the hurdles to the recruitment process. Against this backdrop, a high-level review meeting to discuss the filling up of vacancies was held on Friday.
Stating that about 50,000 vacancies can be filled directly, KCR said the government has started the process to promote officials in all departments. "Jobs falling vacant after implementing the promotions will be identified," he said, instructing officials to prepare a detailed report and bring it to the state Cabinet meeting.
KCR further claimed that the recruitment process under the previous governments was disorganized. "To implement the separate statehood slogan that locals should be given justice, the state government has introduced a new zonal system. There was a delay in getting the Centre's approval for the new zonal system that was framed scientifically and with a lot of hard work. With the President giving his assent, all obstacles for the recruitment policy in the state have been cleared," he said.
