Liquor shop allotment: Telangana grants 15% reservation to Gouds, 10% to SCs, 5% to STs
The state cabinet on Thursday decided to allot 15 percent liquor shops to Gouds community, 10 percent to Scheduled Castes (SCs) and 5 percent to Scheduled Tribes (STs).

The decision for the reservation was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan.
In a statement, state Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud thanked the CM for allocating 15 percent of liquor shops to the Goud Community from next year. He said Gouds in Telangana would be indebted to the CM.
The cabinet also formed the Cabinet Sub Committee about Podu lands. Minister Satyavathi Rathod will be the Chairperson and Ministers Jagdeesh Reddy, Indrakaran Reddy, and Ajay Kumar shall be its members.
The cabinet also discussed the rainfall, the extent of land cultivated during the Monsoon season, and estimates on crop yield. The Cabinet discussed the purchase of crops during the monsoon and the preparedness of the marketing department.
The cabinet also decided to form a sub-committee to review problems of the Traffic Police Stations in the newly formed districts. Home Minister Mahmood Ali will be the Chairman of the Committee while Ministers T Harish Rao, Jagdeesh Reddy, Koppula Eswar, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, V Srinivas Goud, Indrakaran Reddy, Sabita Indrareddy, and Puvvada Ajay Kumar as members.
The cabinet sub-committee will comprehensively review the police department in the background of the newly formed districts and the required measures to be taken.
A cabinet sub-committee comprising Ministers T Harish Rao, Prashanth Reddy, T Srinivas Yadav, Jagadeesh Reddy, Niranjan Reddy, and Sabita Indra Reddy shall look into the issues of the Dharani Portal and come up with possible solution.
The cabinet has sanctioned an additional Rs 100 crore for the repairs of roads in the state due to the heavy rains recently. The government has already sanctioned Rs 300 crore for the road repairs. The cabinet has issued instructions to the Panchayat Raj in this regard.
In response to the request made by Rajabahadur Venkatram Reddy Educational Society, 1261 square yards of land in Narayanguda is allotted for the construction of a women's hostel.
