Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have asked the Rangareddy district medical and health officer to take action against Lucid Medical Diagnostic Centre, Attapur branch, for overcharging for RT-PCR test.
On 22 April, Srikhande Umesh Kumar filed a complaint stating that Lucid Medical Diagnostic Centre in Attapur had overcharged them. Mr. Umesh and his wife visited the diagnostic centre on 7 and 10 April this year to give swab samples for the RT-PCR test.
"We were asked to pay Rs. 850 each instead of Rs. 500. As per a government order dated 21 December 2020, the maximum rates chargeable for RT-PCR test for samples which are collected at the labs/hospitals - including all charges - is Rs. 500 only," he said.
He alleged that the diagnostic center was collecting more than the rate fixed by the government which is a clear violation of the law. "Unfortunately, people are being exploited by this diagnostic center openly without any fear of law," Mr. Umesh added.
On 22 June, the station house officer of Rajendra Nagar police station asked the DMHO to take action against the lab.
