Mahabubabad shocker: Orchard guards force minors to eat cow dung, arrested

Hyderabad: Police have arrested two private guards of mango orchard for forcing two minor boys to consume cow dung at Thorrur Mandal in Mahabubabad district.

The arrests were made after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

According to police, the boys entered the orchard in search of their pet dog. Suspecting that the boys may steal mango, the guards tied them to a tree. They later thrashed them with canes and forced them to eat cow dung. One of the guards filmed the entire episode on his mobile phone.

Later the parents of two minors lodged a complaint with Thorrur police. Police immediately swung into action and arrested the accused guards. They were identified as Yakku and Ramulu.

"Yes, the minors were in distress after the incident. They were taken to the Government Area Hospital in Mahabubabad. Right now they are doing fine," said N Koti Reddy, SP speaking to NewsMeter.

Superintendent of Police, Mahabubabad district N Koti Reddy said the accused have been booked under 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), section 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the IPC and Section 75 (Punishment for cruelty to child) of the Juvenile Justice Act.
