Major development push for Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri districts

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to constitute a Nodal Agency under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary (CS) Somesh Kumar to develop Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts on modern lines.

The CM said construction of integrated Veg and non-Veg markets, town halls, laying of roads, developing the infrastructure like power, drinking water, cleanliness, repairing of the sewerages and drainages, finding a permanent solution to the traffic, floods water, submerging of areas under flood water etc. would be taken up.

The CM instructed the CS to have meetings with the local ministers, MLAs, MLCs, and officials of the departments concerned.

"Hyderabad is becoming a cosmopolitan city. Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts, which are part of Hyderabad, are developing fast. To keep pace with the changing times and the needs, there is a need to keep the plans for the integrated development of the Municipalities, Corporations in these areas. A comprehensive plan should be prepared for the integrated development of these districts along with Hyderabad. We have to set up a nodal agency to monitor these developments regularly under the chairmanship of CS Somesh Kumar. People living in these districts should get medical and educational facilities on par with Hyderabad. For this, local MLAs should prepare a plan based on the issues and needs in their constituencies," he said.

KCR said Public representatives should have at least one meeting with the CS every month. He said the Nodal officer should review the program regularly. He also assured that the government will provide adequate funds for this project.

"Hyderabad has an international airport. It has wonderful and congenial climatic conditions. Through Mission Bhagiratha pure drinking water is supplied on a daily basis. We are setting up huge reservoirs by tapping water from both Krishna and Godavari rivers. We have set up Basti Davakhanas in these districts. Likewise in the neighboring three districts let us construct spacious Veg and Non-Veg markets and make available vegetables, fruits, food items based on the tastes and needs of people especially women to buy the essentials," he said.

KCR asked officials to take measures to stop flooding and find permanent solutions to land registration and other issues. "Take measures such that these districts will compete with Hyderabad. Satellite townships should be constructed on a fast track and they should enhance the Hyderabad map in a qualitative manner. I am sure this will happen," he said.

The CM said developmental works would be taken up at Shadnagar, Pedda Amberpet, Ibrahimpatnam, Jalpally, Shamshabad, Turka Yamzal, Manikonda, Narsingi, Adibhtla, Shankarpalli, Tukkuguda, Amangal municipalities, Badangpet, Bandlaguda Jagir, Meerpet, Jillelaguda, Municipal Corporations, Municipal Corporations Boduppal, Peerjadiguda, Jawahar Nagar, Nizampet in Medchel district, Medchel, Dammayiguda, Nagaram, Pocharam, Ghatkesar, Gundla Pochampally, Tumukunta, Kompalli, Dundigal municipalities.

KCR said all these areas have become a part of Hyderabad and a lot of people are coming from different parts of the country. "For this, it is important that funds should be made available and Nodal agency should be formed," he said.

He wanted works to be taken up simultaneously. The CM instructed Somesh Kumar to conduct a meeting with the local Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, public representatives, officials from the Municipal Administration, Medical and health, Mission Bhagiratha, and other departments at the earliest.
