Nishkal Neuro Multi-Specialty hospital at Nizamabad was sealed after its owner was caught treating patients despite being COVID positive. Identified as Dr Nishkal Prabhu, he fled from the hospital when health officials raided the premises.
Officials tested 30 people working in the hospital, of whom 10 were tested positive. "The hospital has been sealed and action would be initiated against Dr. Nishkal Prabhu and all those who had violated the Covid norms," said DMHO Nizamabad Dr. E Sudershanam.
Dr. Nishkal Prabhu was tested positive for Covid a few days ago. However, he was asymptomatic. Despite being Covid positive, he avoided home isolation and attended to patients at his hospital.
Dr. E Sudershanam said that he and his team waited for over two hours for Dr. Nishkal, but he did not turn up.
As the news spread in the city, people started panicking. Officials asked people, who visited Nishkal Neuro multi-specialty hospital in the past few days, to get tested or stay in isolation. Patients have been asked to report any abnormal condition to the health officials immediately.
