PV Narasimha Rao Huzurabad: Telangana planning to carve out new district

Warangal: Speculations are rife that the Telangana government may carve out a new district by including several Mandals from Warangal Urban, Karimnagar, Siddipet and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts.

Panchayati Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has made the government's intentions clear when he visited the newly constructed integrated collectorate in Warangal which is due to be inaugurated by CM KCR on June 21.

Rao said the Chief Minister KCR would seek the opinions of the local public representatives in this regard and take the final call as per their aspirations.

The state government is mulling the formation of the new district following the launching of the centenary birth celebrations of PV Narasimha Rao last year. This move could also fulfill the long-standing demand to upgrade Vangara and Challuru villagers to Mandals. This implies that the formation of a new district would change the current state of the surrounding districts.

As a result, the earlier plan to create Warangal and Hanamkonda districts are also on the table. There is another speculation that the Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts may be combined. In fact the Warangal Rural district is yet to have its own headquarters. Hanamkonda is acting as a joint headquarters for both the districts till now.

KCR may clear the air regarding this matter during his visit to Warangal on June 21.

The developments came close on the heels of former minister Eatala Rajender joining the BJP and the ruling party leaving no stone unturned to woo the people. 'PV Narasimha Rao Huzurabad' district is one of the bait the government is throwing.
