Telangana government on Friday allowed all Muslim employees working in the government sector to leave their offices at 4 pm during the holy fasting month of Ramzan.

Hyderabad: Telangana government on Friday allowed all Muslim employees working in the government sector to leave their offices at 4 pm during the holy fasting month of Ramzan.

All Muslim employees including contract and outsourced shall leave their offices at 4 pm every day from April 14 to May 13 to perform necessary rituals except when their presence is required due to exigencies of services.

The minority affairs department had requested the government to allow Muslim employees to leave early in view of Ramzan. On April 15, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar issued a formal order.

Meanwhile, Mecca Masjid management has announced that people without masks will not be allowed into the mosque. Sanitizers have also been placed in the mosque premises.

Regular announcements are being made on the loudspeakers urging people to follow Covid SOPs.

The use of sanitizers and masks has been made compulsory for people entering the mosque. Devotees have been asked to sanitize themselves before entering the mosque.
