Hyderabad: Ensuing Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi will be memorable and unique.
"India@75--Freedom struggle, ideas@75, Achievements@ 75, Actions@75 and Resolve@ 75" is the theme set for the tableaux to be presented by States and Union Territories.
In tune with the Government of India's Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people and achievements, Telangana State, Andhra Pradesh, other States, and union territories have to present their tableaux proposals.
Telangana State since its formation in 2014 has participated only twice in the annual Republic Day events held on January 26 in New Delhi---Bonalu in 2015 and Batukamma/Sammakka Saralamma in 2020.
Having missed showcasing the State's cultural heritage and development in the 2021 Republic Day Parade in New Delhi due to the Corona pandemic, the Telangana government gearing up for the 2022 event in a big way, it is learnt.
Republic Day Mahotsav 2022 is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Modi's vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Sources told Newsmeter that the state government is considering various themes for the tableaux to be displayed at the next Republic Day celebrations.
It is likely to showcase the latest UNESCO recognized famed 800- year old Kakatiya Rudreshwara Ramappa temple in Warangal District as a World Heritage site, the first in Telangana State.
The historical temple architectural marvel was constructed by Recharla Rudra, the general of King Ganapathi Deva during the reign of the Kakatiya Empire in 1213 CE. Though the presiding deity is Ramalingeshwara Swamy, the temple was named after the sculptor Ramappa, who finished the temple in 14 years!
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's pet project, the development of famed Yadagirigutta (renamed Yadadri), the abode of Lord Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy, located 60 km from Hyderabad, may also be considered.
Freedom fighters Chakali Ilamma, Komaram Bheem, Swami Ramanand Thirth, Dasarathi Brothers, Kaloji Narayana Rao, and others, innovative schemes and rapid strides in various spheres since the formation of State on June 2, 2014, one lakh crore Kaleshwaram project from irrigation sector, Mission Bhagiratha, multi-crore Mission Bhagiratha, the flagship Telangana Drinking water supply project, aims to provide safe, adequate, sustainable and treated drinking water to entire rural and urban areas of the State excluding Hyderabad, Telangana Ku Harithaharam which has seen an increase in tree cover by 3.67 percent from the present 24 percent and target of 33 percent, galloping IT, pharma, real estate, ease of doing business, successful power sector, effective law and order, infrastructure development among others may be showcased.
Telangana State is known for world-famous historical monuments, forts, museums, etc. like Charminar, Golconda, Qutb Shahi Tombs, and Salarjung Museum besides rich flora and fauna not to mention the famed Hyderabadi pearls and biryani.
Annual Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi are prestigious events where States and Union Territories showcase their cultural heritage and development in various spheres through tableaux.
Union Ministry of Defence constitutes a committee of distinguished persons drawn from various fields of the arts to shortlist the best proposals from States and UTs. The process is elaborate and time-consuming. The best 3 tableaux get trophies.
Sources told Newsmeter that in view of rigorous test and theme selections, proposals are rejected by the committee and this is precisely the reason some states did figure in Republic Day and Independence parade in New Delhi.
One tractor and one trailer on which tableau is fabricated will be provided by the Ministry of Defence while allowing states to have their own specified vehicle. The display should be in tune with the Covid 19 guidelines.
The tableaux proposals are evaluated by an expert committee consisting of prominent persons from the fields of art, culture, painting, sculpture, music, architecture, choreography, etc. Only one tableau from the state is allowed.
Directions have been issued to states to use eco-friendly material for the tableaux, avoid the use of plastic and plastic-based products as far as feasible, balance the sound level of music among others. Security will be tight at the event.
