Hyderabad: YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) president Y.S Sharmila on Monday announced that she will embark on a padayatra from Chevella from 20 October.

Sharmila said the padayatra will start from Chevella and end there. She will tour all Assembly constituencies except the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). She will cover 12-15 km every day to know about the problems of the people, she said, adding that the unemployment deeksha will continue every Tuesday during the padayatra.

She said the aim of the padayatra was to achieve the aspirations of her father and late Chief Minister Y.S Rajasekhara Reddy.

"Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy has categorically stated that the party will be confined to Andhra Pradesh and will maintain cordial relations with its neighbours, Sajjala said, adding the decision to meet leaders from Telanagana is that of Y.S Sharmila alone and the YSRCP is not behind it.

She accused the KCR-led government of cheating unemployed youth, farmers, and other improvised sections of society. "The self-esteem of people of Telangana is being crushed under the feet of Doras (rulers), Telangana earned the dubious distinction of witnessing more than 6,000 farmers' suicides. This is the second-highest farmer suicide cases in the country," she said.
