Mancherial: The tahsildar of Naspur and former tahsildar of Jaipur in Mancherial district was suspended on 25 March for irregularities in resuming and reassigning government land situated at Shetapalli village under Jaipur mandal without following the due procedure under TS Assigned Lands (prohibition of Transfer) Act 1977.

According to Mancherial district collector Bharati Hollikeri, the tahsildar R. Shekhar also did not follow government rules that said the district collector's office is authorized to undertake reassignment of the said resumed lands in favour of third-party eligible occupants instead of referring to the assignment review committees.

"After careful consideration of the available material and having due regard to the circumstances of the case, I am satisfied that it is necessary to place R. Shekhar under suspension pending inquiry into grave charges or charges aforementioned," said Bharati Hollikeri.

The suspension was made by the district collector under the power conferred by Rule 8 (1) of the Telangana Civil Services Rules 1991. The officials will be suspended until the conclusion of the disciplinary proceedings/termination of all proceedings relating to the criminal charges.

During the period of suspension, Mr. Shekar will be paid subsistence allowances equivalent to the leave salary of half-pay leave. The DA and other compensatory allowances shall be paid along with subsistence allowance, added the district collector.
