Telangana Congress prez Revanth Reddy placed under house arrest
Police said Revanth Reddy was planning to visit Kokapet and therefore the step was taken as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

Reddy's office said he was supposed to go to Delhi to attend the monsoon session of the parliament starting Monday. His office said police were deployed outside his house at 3 am and he was stopped from venturing out.

In a letter to Lok Sabha speaker Om shared, the Malkajgiri MP said Telangana police at the instance of Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, DGP have stopped him from discharging his duties as a Parliamentarian by not allowing him to attend the parliament and voice people's concerns.
"To voice against anti-people policies of the state government, we decided to raise the issue in parliament against the selling of government land at throwaway prices to the relatives of TRS functionaries. I was prevented from attending the parliament. When the session is on, the permission of the Speaker is absolutely necessary to arrest the parliamentarian particularly when it is a political arrest," he said.

Revanth Reddy alleged that Rs 1,000 crore had been misappropriated in the sale of Kokapet government lands and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had favored the benefactors.
Revanth Reddy announced that he would lodge a complaint against government irregularities. Revanth Reddy has announced that he will lodge a complaint against State Intelligence Chief Prabhakar Rao, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, and Siddipet Collector.
All India Youth Congress National General Secretary Anil Kumar Yadav has also been placed under house arrest by Hyderabad Police.
