`Ensure monthly income of Rs. 15000': Telangana government releases Rs 73 crore for handloom weavers
Telangana Minister for Industries KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said the government has released Rs 73.5 Crore for the welfare of handloom weavers and ancillary workers under different schemes.

At a review meeting officials here, he said the government is taking measures to ensure the institutional and structural development of the handloom sector in the state
He said different welfare schemes and programmes are being implemented accordingly. "As per the instructions of Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao, measures are being taken to ensure the workers earn Rs.15000 per month," he said.
KTR noted that implementation of different programmes by the state government, the monthly income of handloom and ancillary workers have increased, and their living standards have been improved
A few requests were made earlier by the handloom workers to the Minister. A meeting was held last month with Finance Minister Harish Rao and senior officials from the Handlooms department.
The Industries Minister, who conducted another meeting today, responded positively to the requests made by handloom workers. During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the progress and implementation of all the schemes. He said the department would take all measures to release the funds at the earliest.
He stated that the weavers are benefited significantly due to the implementation of schemes as their incomes have increased considerably. "The government will ensure that weavers have continuous work throughout the year," the minister said.
He also held a detailed review of schemes including Telangana Handloom Weavers Thrift Fund Saving and Security Scheme (TFSSS), 20 percent Price Subsidy on Hank Yarn, Dyes and Chemicals, Pavala Vaddi scheme, Marketing Support Schemes, Chenetha Mitra Scheme, Cash Credit Support Scheme.
