Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan's mother Krishna Kumari passed away after a brief illness early on Wednesday. She was 77.

Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan's mother Krishna Kumari passed away after a brief illness early on Wednesday. She was 77.

"With a very heavy heart, I wish to inform you that I lost my lovable mother early morning today. We are bringing her to Saligramam, Chennai residence by evening flight for final respects. It was her upbringing that instilled in us the virtues of serving the poor and needy, to be always true to your conscious and have faith in God at all times. The final rites will be performed in Chennai on Thursday," Dr. Soundararajan, who also holds the charge of Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, tweeted.

Krishna Kumari was admitted to the Hospital at Somajiguda on Sunday for an age-related ailment. The end came at 3.30 am this morning. Krishna Kumari was the wife of Kumari Ananthan, former MP of Nagercoil.

Kumari Ananthan and Krishna Kumari were staying with the Governor here at Raj Bhavan. According to information, her mortal remains was brought to Raj Bhavan around 11 am and later it will be shifted to Chennai for last rites.

Chief Minister K . Chandrasekhar Rao expressed condolences over the death of Tamilisai's mother. He conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

Ministers KT Rama Rao, Harish Rao, Telangana Pradesh Congress President A. Revanth Reddy, former Minister Etela Rajender, BJP Telangana Unit President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, MP, and others also condoled her death.
