Telangana government has categorized Journalists as frontline workers and announced to hold a special vaccination drive from May 28.

Telangana: Journalists designated as frontline workers, vaccination drive starts from May 28

Hyderabad: Telangana government has categorized Journalists as frontline workers and announced to hold a special vaccination drive from May 28. Arvind Kumar, Commissioner, Information and Public Relations Department, said a special drive to vaccinate journalists will be held for two days.

Journalists are required to visit the designated vaccination centers along with Aadhar Card and Accreditation Card. The list of designated vaccination centers is available with respective District Public Relations Officers.

For the State Level Journalists, five vaccination centers have been set up. These include Press Club Somajiguda, Press Club Basheerbagh, MCRHRD Institute Jubilee Hills, Unani Hospital Charminar, and Area Hospital Vanasthalipuram. Arvind Kumar requested the journalist fraternity to make use of the facility and get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19.

He also informed that around 20000 journalists are accredited with the Department of Information and Public Relations in the state. Of whom around 3700 are state-level journalists.
