Telangana reports 535 new COVID-19 cases, crosses 1 cr testing
The government tested 57,942 citizens on Saturday. So far 1,00,19,096 samples have been tested in the state.

The state reported three new deaths on March 27 taking the total death toll to 1,688. The fatality rate in the state is 0.55 percent which is less than the national average of 1.3 percent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area on Saturday reported 154 new cases. The neighboring Rangareddy district reported 39 new cases. Medchal Malkajgiri reported 49 and Sangareddy 22 new cases.
Other districts of Telangana are also seeing a surge in cases. Mahboobnagar on Thursday reported 21 new cases each while Khammam reported 16 new cases and Nizamabad 32 cases.
Around 278 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking total recoveries to 3,00,156 in the state. The recovery rate, as per the government, now stands at 97.98 percent, which is approximately three percent higher than the national average of 95.1 percent.
The government tested 57,942 citizens on Saturday. So far 1,00,19,096 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 2,69,185. Reports of 1143 samples are awaited. The state tested 25,494 (44%) primary contacts while 6,953 (12%) secondary contacts.
There are only 20 Government RT-PCR / CBNAAT / TRUENAT centers in the state. Around 60 private centers too are operational. On Thursday, 49,766 tests were conducted at Government centers.
Meanwhile, on Saturday the Telangana Government has issued an order making the wearing of mask mandatory in public places and imposing restrictions on public gatherings, congregations, rallies and processions during the upcoming religious events to prevent the spread of COVID19.
