Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places in Telangana for the next five days.

It also predicted heavy rain in isolated places of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam districts.

It further said that thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) will hit all districts of the state.

In Hyderabad, a generally cloudy sky will be observed and light to moderate rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the city and surrounding areas, the IMD said. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31Ā°C and 23Ā°C, respectively, it added. It also warned of waterlogging in roads in low-lying areas and warned people against slippery roads.

The IMD inference on Sunday read, "The low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and north Odisha with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to mid-tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height persists. It is likely to move west-northwest wards across Odisha, Jharkhand, and north Chhattisgarh during the next two-three days."

It added, "The EastĀWest trough from the cyclonic circulation associated with low pressure area to west-central Arabian Sea now runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with low-pressure area to east-central Arabian Sea across south Chattisgarh, north Telangana, north interior Karnataka, and south Konkan and seen between 4.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level."
