Hyderabad: The Telangana Government on 23 November issued an order allowing cinema theatres, multiplexes to open with 50 per cent seating capacity outside containment zones with immediate effect.

In an advisory for all members of staff in theatres, the government has released a number of guidelines. All theatres have to follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to run the theatres. Sources said that the chief minister has granted permission to theatres to increase the number of shows and revise ticket charges.

Vendors have to wear masks at all times. Hand sanitisers should be available at entry/exit points and common areas. The theatres have to follow the physical distancing protocol and crowd management. Also, the entire theatre, particularly the common areas, have to be sanitised after every screening.

The government has also directed the temperature setting range in the theatres to be between 24 to 30 degree Celsius and relative humidity to be in the range of 40 to 70 per cent. The re-circulation of air should be avoided and the intake of fresh air should be made as much as possible.

The government has asked the theatres to make the show timings staggered to ensure that intervals of different shows do not occur simultaneously.
