TS Guv seeks end of digital divide, equal access to education in post-COVID world

She said that it was important that all stakeholders join hands to ensure accessibility of quality education to all students irrespective of their socio-economic conditions.

Dr. Soundararajan exhorted the civil society, corporate organizations, parents, school administrators, and philanthropic organizations to supplement the efforts of the government in ending the digital divide and to ensure equality in accessing education. The Governor was speaking, virtually, at the inaugural of the School Excellence Conclave on the theme of "Future of Schooling in a Post-COVID World" organized by the CII here on Friday.

development of children by supporting their psychological, physical & academic well-being. Let us create an environment that's supportive,innovative & healthy for all children,with covid appropriate behaviour in place strictly.
"The increased use of digital technologies and gadgets for online classes should not result in the denial of education to the downtrodden," she said. Dr Soundararajan said the COVID-19 pandemic should not dilute the progress that we have made till now in providing universal education to all.
Emphasizing the need to come up with COVID-19 vaccine for children at the earliest, she said that the paediatric COVID vaccine similar to that of polio vaccine drops will turn out to be a game-changer in our fight against the pandemic.
The Governor suggested the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 in schools to inculcate a spirit of creativity, innovation, and critical thinking among the children, while taking care of their nutritional needs.
