Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on 28 March predicted light to moderate rain or thunderstorms in isolated places of Telangana for the next 24 hours.

It also said that thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are very likely to occur in isolated places in Rangareddy, Vikarabad, Narayanpet, Mahboobnagar, Jagtial, Wanaparthy, Jogulamba-Gadwal, and Nagarkurnool districts in the state.

The maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2 to 3°C in isolated places of Telangana, according to the IMD.

The weather forecast issued by the IMD, Amaravathi, on Thursday had said that hot winds from the north might shoot up the temperatures in both regions. It had also said that the humid and high temperature might give a tough time to the people of coastal Andhra Pradesh till the onset of the southwest monsoons in the first week of June.

The IMD inference on Sunday read, "A cyclonic circulation lies over Madhya Maharashtra and neighbourhood and extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. The cyclonic circulation over south Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked."
