Vaccine shortage: Telangana govt puts off immunization drive indefinitely
Telangana government has indefinitely postponed the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the state.

This follows the shortage of vaccines and delay in releasing Covishield and Covaxin doses by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,
Director of Public Health G. Srinivasa Rao said on Sunday night that in view of inadequate stock of Covaxin and delay in releasing fresh consignment by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the second dose of vaccination for 45 plus is postponed.

On Friday, the Health Department had postponed the vaccination drive till Monday due to changes in the time interval between two doses of Covishield. The time interval was increased from 6Ā-8 weeks to 12Ā-16 weeks.
Director of Public Health said fresh dates for vaccination will be announced later. There was zero vaccination in the state on Saturday and Sunday.
