The Director of Public Health explained that if one person gets infected, the virus is spreading to the entire family within few hours or a day or two. "People should try to wear masks inside the house and while they venture outside," said Dr G Srinivasa Rao.
He also adds that the Government is not going for another lockdown as it is bad for the state economy and people's livelihood. "If the state is not going for lockdown, it doesn't mean that the Coronavirus status in the state is better. The situation in the state is grave," said Dr G Srinivasa Rao.
Meanwhile the state Health Minister, Eatala Rajender has met with the officials asked to ensure that all personal care equipment required for Asha workers, primary health care doctors and staff is available on time. The minister directed that test kits be made available at all the centres where corona tests are being conducted in the state.
Hospitals offering treatment were asked to see to it that there was no shortage of oxygen and remdesivir injections. He also appealed to the public to be vigilant and not to join groups as the virus is spreading fast this time. He said the mechanism should be ready so that anyone with the coronavirus can be tested when most people congregate in the same areas.
