Hyderabad: Winter is here, according to the predictions of the regional weathermen. Telangana will see chilly days on 9, 10, and 11 November, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted with minimum night temperatures likely to be drop to 3 to 4 degrees below normal in many places.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Adilabad district recorded the lowest temperature in the state, 9.8 degrees Celsius.

"Dry winds from north-east is blowing into the state. The weather will remain chilly and dry and temperatures may drop by 3-5 degree below its normal," said a statement by the IMD.

According to the meteorological calendar, Telangana witnesses winter between November and February with December and January being the peak months when temperatures drop below 3 degrees in the northern belt of the state.

Hyderabad will see a partly cloudy sky with haze in the coming week and the day and night temperatures will stay around 31 and 14 degrees, respectively. Dry weather condition is also prevailing in the state.

Meanwhile, the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Rayalseema is likely to witness dry weather. Thunderstorms and lighting may occur in isolated places towards the week-end.
