Temperature drops to 7.1 degrees in Adilabad of Telangana
By Aiswarya Sriram Published on 28 Dec 2019 7:33 AM GMTHyderabad: Temperature plunged to 7.1 degrees Celsius in Adilabad district of Telangana on Friday morning, giving the first sign of a cold wave heading for the state. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature recorded in Hyderabad was 17 degrees Celsius. Mercury had hit 9.9 in Hyderabad last December.
The Telangana State Development Planning Society has issued an orange alert, where the temperature reached below 10 degrees Celsius, for Tamsi, Jainad, Talamadugu, Bheempoor and Tirayani areas of Adilabad district. The alert turns to red when the temperature drops below 4 in an area.
A temperature of above 15 degrees Celsius is considered normal.
Mr Mahesh Palwat of Skymet Weather a private weather forecaster said, āNow winds from the western Himalayas are reaching till Vidarbha and northern states of Telangana, that why there is a fall in temperature. There is possibility of cold waves in Telangana. In Northern states like Rajasthan, the temperature is already close to reaching zero degrees Celsius. For two more days the temperature will fall, from December 31st, we can again see a rise in temperature.ā
āIn Hyderabad, the temperature will fall by 2 to 3 degree Celsius,ā he added.
