Thalaivi Vs The Iron Lady: Nithya Menon says not competing with Kangana

Hyderabad: Making a biopic is not easy. Especially when the personality is a popular politician, as the stakes are high. Imagine the pressure when two different people are working on two different films which are nothing but biopics on the same personality.

This is all about Thalaivi and The Iron Lady which are being made on late actor-turned-politician Jayalalitha. Thalaivi has Kangana Ranaut in the titular role and the film is directed by AL Vijay. In The Iron Lady, Nithya Menon is the lead actor, while Priyadarshini is the director.

A lot is being written and spoken whether these actors will do justice to Jayalalitha and also about the competition between Kangana and Nithya. Talking about the film to a news agency, Nithya said she doesn’t think she or anyone from her team is competing with Kangana or others who are working on Jayalalitha’s biopic.

The Ala Modalaindi actress said, “We are not working towards to meet a deadline. I'm quite confident about what Priyadarshini wants to do and she has access to details and information that others might not know."

Nithya added, “Both of us studied in Bangalore before we got into films. But more than that, I think what connects both of us, even more, is the way we speak, our mannerisms, and habits, and how we are so particular about several minute things. When I saw her interviews, I think I understood her from an emotional standpoint and that's something we are going to explore in the film as well.”

Both these film are expected to go on the floors soon. Thalaivi is slated for release on June 26, 2020, and the makers of The Iron Lady are yet to unveil the details about the biopic.
