Thieves break into godown in Hyderabad, flee with 70 cartons of ITC cigarettes

Hyderabad: In a pre-dawn theft at Chanda Nagar of Hyderabad, unidentified offenders broke into a cigarette godown and took away over 70 cartons of cigarettes of various ITC brands on Friday. The thieves didn't touch other tobacco sticks stored in the warehouse, said the police.

The break-in at the storage space at Ameenpur village came to light after the staff came there for day's work and found the locks broken and the doors open. They alerted the godown owner and the police.

Sources in the police said the thieves had snapped the CCTV camera cables to avoid being filmed. The cops have collected fingerprints and other clues from the spot and begun an investigation.
