Thieves walk away with gold, laptops from COVID patients home

Hyderabad: The advocate from Alwal who had tested positive for COVID-19 fell prey to a different kind of problem when his house was burgled while he was away undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. Following his medical reports, his family were also away for a quarantine period. Thieves broke onto their house and walked away with gold, watches and laptops.

According to the police, while the COVID patient was still undergoing treatment, his wife and children returned home on 26 May after completing their quarantine period . To their shock, they the broken lock. In their complaint lodged at the Alwal police station, they stated that 10 tolas of gold jewelry, two laptops, four electronic tablets, and 18 wristwatches were stolen from their home. " The locker and the adjacent sliding door was found broken, they walked away with my company's properties' said the advocate.

he advocate, 44, might have contracted the infection while taking care of his ailing mother who was then undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital in Malakpet. After he tested positive, his parents, his brothers, and other family members - a total of seven persons - residing in Chaitanyapuri also tested positive for COVID-19.

The Alwal police registered a case and started an investigation. Meanwhile, the advocate released a video explaining the incident which went viral on social media.
