Three arrested for smuggling ganja in Hyderabad

Two of their associates are yet to be arrested. Ganja, two cars and five phones worth 24 Lakhs was seized by police officials.
The three men, Gandikota Kumar, Nune Vijender, and Keshamoni Rajesh Goud, were carrying 120 kgs of ganja from Rakkuat Bhadrachalam agency to Hyderabad. In Hyderabad, they were going to sell it to Sameer, who was supposed to take it to Mumbai. The police seized the ganja along with two cars and five phones.
A special operations team from LB Nagar received a tip-off that some drug peddlers were travelling along National Highway 65 near Pedda Amberpet. Based on the tip-off the special team, along with Hayathnagar police, arrested the three men. Gandikota and Vijender were previously arrested for similar crimes and were in prison till November 2019.
After they were released, they met Keshamoni Rajesh Goud and started smuggling ganja. They used to procure the contraband from a man, Rakku, from Bhadradri Kothagudem district and sell it to Sameer who would take the ganja to Mumbai. Both Rakku and Sameer are now absconding, said the police. The accused men said they used to purchase a kilogram of ganja at Rs. 3000 and sell it for Rs. 8000.
