Three autos and 20 huts gutted in the blaze at Secunderabad

Hyderabad: As many as, 20 huts of in-state migrant workers and three autos, were gutted down in major fire at Bapuji Nagar of Bowenpally. Officials on the ground, suspect a cylinder blast. No casualties have been reported.

According to fire officials from Secunderabad division, an SOS call reached them at around 12.30 PM from Bapuji nagar at Bowenpally on May 29th. Two fire extinguishers from Secunderabad and a Fire Snorkel vehicle rushed to the spot.

Officials ascertaining the cause of the fire say, the fire is a result of a cylinder blast occurred in one of the huts .While, thankfully, no inmates suffered injuries. However, during the fire control operation two fire staff sustained burns, said an official.

TRS representative M Krishank told NewsMeter, "A majority of the slum dewellers are in-state migrant workers. All were evacuated on time. Financial aid has been provided to three families'.

Bowenpally police officials involved in the evacuation process said, "The blast could be a resulted of leakage of excess heat conditions. Senior officials from the fire department also arrived at the spot and are monitoring the situation".
