Tight security arrangements for Dubbaka by-poll today; 2000 personnel deployed
Siddipet: More than 2000 security force personnel have been deployed to ensure peaceful and incident-free by-poll to Dubbaka assembly constituency on Tuesday.

Of the 315 polling stations, 108 have been declared critical and highly sensitive. Around 15 villages have been declared sensitive. Police pickets have been set up in these villages as a precautionary measure.

Siddipet police commissioner Joel Davis reviewed the poll arrangements on Monday.

He said foolproof security arrangements have been made for the by-poll. 'People should exercise their vote freely and without fear', he said.

Joel Davis said Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed at sensitive and problematic locations. Additional forces from ten other districts of Telangana have also been deployed for the election.

Mobile parties, Special Striking Force, Taskforce teams, Special Investigation Teams, Post Poll teams, Static Surveillance Teams, Model Code of Conduct Teams and Flying Squads are on high alert to meet any exigency.

Arrangements have been made to monitor every polling station using GPS tracking and geotagging. For fast information dissemination through VHF sets in areas where there are communication issues, Repeaters have been set up on a temporary basis and these centers would be monitored round the clock.

Five mandals from Siddipet district and two mandals from Medak district falling under Dubbaka assembly constituency are going to polls on Tuesday.

Commissioner also urged the public to follow COVID protocols while exercising their franchise. Voters have been requested to wear masks, carry sanitizers, and maintain distance at the polling booths.

"All police stations are under electronic surveillance and the entire polling procedure is being webcast," he said.
