Tollywood actress Nayantara finally speaks out on why she wants to avoid the media
By Prakash Aditya Published on 9 Oct 2019 6:36 PM GMTHyderabad: A majority of movie stars take part in their movie promotions regularly. But some tend to avoid publicity and media most times. Nayantara, a top-notch movie star in Southern cinema industry, took everyone by surprise in her interview with Vogue India Magazine. The actress has not appeared at one single movie promotion or interview for the past 10 years. In the interview, she answered the most eluding question 'why Nayantara is avoiding press?'. The actress is also featured on Vogue India's October 2019 issue, alongside Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and young Malayalam actor, Dulquer Salmaan.
Claiming to be workaholic, Nayantara says she is always busy and shooting all the time. Of late, the actress is known to gravitate towards woman-centric roles and solo-character flicks, on which she usually calls the shots.
Cementing her stardom over a decade and a half in showbiz, the 34-year-old star actress says that she lives in fear, at times scared and worried, of not delivering the right product as desired.
When Indian cinema is largely steered by men, why can't women take on commanding roles in the field, she said. "Why should men have all the power?" Nayantara says she is fueled with a passion to change the norm and do a job that most women don't feel confident in doing.
She further mentioned that she personally practices confidentiality. "The outside world need not know what I feel and or think about. I feel a lot of discomfort while facing a huge crowd. There have been several rumours and gossip about my personal life in the past. I can't handle such tension and controversial issues in my life. That is the main reason as to why I want to maintain a distance from media people. Acting is my profession, and the movies and my characters say a lot about me," she said.
The actress last appeared in Megastar Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. She played the role of Narasimha Reddy's wife. She can also be seen in the upcoming movie Bigil, starring actor Vijay, and Rajinikanth's Darbar.
