Tollywood producer Bandla Ganesh caught for cheating case in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Jubilee police of Hyderabad served notices to Tollywood producer Bandla Ganesh in connection with a case of cheating and threatening registered against him. The case was registered after another producer Prasad V. Potluri(PVP) complained about Ganesh.

Meanwhile, Banjara Hills police detained Bandla Ganesh in connection with a cheating and check bounce case registered against him at Cuddapah district in Andhra Pradesh. As he failed to appear before the court in connection with the case, the court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Ganesh and directed the Vankara hills police to detain him.

When Ganesh came to the Jubilee Hills police station to receive the notice, a team led by Banjara Hills Inspector N Kalinga Rao arrived there and executed the warrant. He was then taken to Banjara Hills police station.

According to sources, during 2014 Ganesh had borrowed Rs 10 lakh from a person in Cuddapah district. As he did not repay the money, the lender approached the court in 2017, and since then, the case was in court. In this connection, the court had issued summons on several occasions asking Ganesh to appear before them. But he failed, due to which the court issues a non-bailable warrant.

Cuddapah police are likely to take Ganesh into custody from Banjara Hills police and shift him to Cuddapah.

Ganesh is also accused of cheating PVP Rs 7 crores. During the making of the movie Temper in 2013. PVP financed Rs 30 crore to Ganesh. As per the agreement, the amount was supposed to be returned immediately after the movie's release. But Ganesh had cleared Rs 23 crores in instalments and was delaying the payment of the balance Rs 7 crore.

Further, when they met recently at a hotel, PVP asked Ganesh to clear the dues, but Ganesh warned PVP that he would not repay the money and challenged him to do whatever he could.

Accordingly, a case was registered at Jubilee Hills, and a notice was served in connection with this on Wednesday.
