TSRTC female employees to sport maroon uniform soon

Hyderabad: The female employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation have chosen maroon as the colour of their new uniform.

At a meeting with Sunil Sharma, the managing director of TSRTC, at Jubilee bus stop on Friday, the workers were given a dozen shades and asked to decide on a colour for their overcoat. After a brief discussion among themselves, the employees agreed on maroon.

Assistant Manager (MGBS) Sudha, who has been mediating between the female employees and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on several issues after the recent KSRTC strike, said, "We are happy that we were given choices. We have seen the texture and colour. There was only one shade among maroon and we picked that one."

She said the female employees are glad that their needs and demands are being fulfilled one after the other.

A female staffer at the bus stop said, "Since the inception, we had only khaki colour for our uniform. For the first time, we are having a change in colour. Hope the new uniform makes us brighter and we are looking forward to the change."

Meanwhile, male TSRTC employees will continue to sport their usual khaki dress. Sources said they too are expected to get a new colour for their uniform in the near future.
