Hyderabad: Telangana is all set to celebrate its 10th formation day with grand festivities that will reflect the glory of the state and showcase the rapid strides made on all fronts under the BRS rule to fulfill the aspirations of its people. Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao made the announcement during a high-level review at his Secretariat chambers on Saturday.

The celebrations will involve all sections of people, from villages to the state capital, and will take place from 2 to 22 June. The Chief Minister will inaugurate the event at the BR Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat, while state ministers will hold similar programmes in their respective district headquarters.

“Telangana state was achieved after long struggles and hardships. It is the youngest state in the country. With the joint efforts of the people’s representatives and the government machinery, today Telangana is achieving excellent results in all fields,” said the Chief Minister.

He added that Telangana has become a role model for the country, and other states are watching its progress with interest. “Leaders and people of Maharashtra and other northern states are surprised with our success story,” he said.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that neither the Central government nor the governments in many other states have the right perspective and foresight with regard to development, particularly in the agriculture sector.

To discuss the arrangements for the grand celebration, chief secretary Santhi Kumari held a coordination meeting on Sunday.

During the meeting, Santhi Kumari said that the event should highlight the achievements of each department during the past nine years of the state’s formation.

She called for documentaries to be prepared by every department at the state level, showcasing facts, figures, and accomplishments. All significant public monuments and buildings should be illuminated every day throughout the celebration, she said.

Apart from the state-level events, similar events will also take place at the district, constituency, and Mandal levels. To ensure the smooth conduct of the 21-day celebration, several sub-committees have been formed.
