100 Days of Congress: Telangana rejected ‘Neo Nizam’ KCR, says CM Revanth

Hyderabad: “Nizam rulers have done a lot of development for Telangana. However, people have revolted against the autocratic rulers. History shows that Telangana does not tolerate slavery.

KCR made attempts to continue the dictatorial rule in Telangana. Like Qasim Rizvi, KCR tried to suppress those who rebelled against his supremacy and authority in Telangana,” said chief minister A Revanth Reddy.

CM Revanth chaired a media conference on Sunday on the occasion of the Congress government in Telangana completing 100 days of governance.

‘KCR acted like a Neo Nizam’

“KCR snatched away the freedom that people have struggled for 75 years by showing the State Secretariat and the Kaleshwaram project,” the CM said, addressing the media.

“KCR acted like a Neo Nizam and implemented policies similar to the dynasts. It was the reason people dethroned him and his BRS government and gave a big mandate to the people’s government,” he said.

The Congress government gave freedom to people within 100 days of coming to power and is moving forward by implementing all promises it made before the elections, added Revanth.

‘Assault on Telangana’s culture’

Alleging that former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao imprisoned poets, writers and artists during his 10-year rule, the CM said, 'KCR assaulted Telangana’s cultural history to spread his popularity.’ He mentioned that ‘Jaya Jaya Telangana’ song being chosen as the State song as an example.

Speaking about the people-oriented policies of the Congress government, he said that the State removed the barbed fence around Pragati Bhavan (now Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan) and gave freedom to the people. “We are permitting entry to everyone into the Secretariat hence showing that the government is trying its best to convey the message that we are public servants and not the rulers,” he said and added that the government has decentralised the state administration and brought transparency.

BRS leaders stopping welfare schemes

Explaining the State government’s plan to move fast to implement all its welfare schemes, CM Revanth said that the State has been extending its support to the poor by implementing the Six Guarantees, one by one. “We have implemented the free bus travel for women and the cooking gas cylinder at Rs 500 schemes. So far, eight lakh families have received subsidised gas cylinders. The is also being successfully implemented,” he said.

Speaking about implementing 200 units of free electricity supply scheme, he said that Harish Rao and other BRS leaders are obstructing the distribution of zero bills to the beneficiaries. “We are working hard for 18 hours a day to weed out ganja plants from Tulasi garden,” he said.

State debt

“While we are raising the issue of debt burden on the state the opposition is talking about assets,” the CM said about the Rs 9 lakh crore debt burden on the state.

“When Telangana State was formed the debt of the state was Rs 6,000 crores per year. Now, KCR has a burden of repaying Rs 64,000 crores. Every year Rs 70,0000 crores have to be paid in the form of debts,” he added.

Vibrant Telangana

In our goal of Vibrant Telangana, the State government is moving forward by maintaining cordial relations with the Union government and the governor, the CM said.

Speaking about corruption allegations against the previous government, the CM said that the State is probing the Dharani portal and will take action against those behind the damages to the Kaleshwaram project.

The CM also mentioned BJP leader Eatala Rajender and BSP leader RS Praveen Kumar, IPS, saying that the BJP leader has to prove his sincerity by insisting the Centre order a probe in phone tapping and said that Praveen is also answerable to all if he decides to ally with BRS.
