₹4,215 Cr digital investment scam: Telangana CID arrests Falcon Invoice CEO Yogendra Singh
Hyderabad: Telangana CID has apprehended Yogendra Singh, CEO of Falcon Invoice Discounting Application, in a Rs 4215 crore digital investment scam.
Singh, along with the other accused, orchestrated a phony investment scheme and defrauded thousands of investors across the country.
The arrest marks a breakthrough in what is being called one of the biggest digital investment scams in recent years.
Hailing from Machabollaram, Secunderabad, Singh, 38, had been on the run since February 2025 after multiple complaints were filed against Falcon and its parent company, Capital Protection Force Pvt. Ltd. He was arrested in Hyderabad today and produced before a magistrate for judicial remand.
The scam involved developing a fraudulent application—Falcon Invoice Discounting (accessible via falconsgroup.com)—that falsely claimed to offer high returns through invoice discounting tied to reputed multinational companies. However, investigations revealed that the deals were fake and fabricated to lure investors.
Over 7,000 depositors were induced to invest nearly Rs. 4,215 crore. Preliminary findings indicated that around 4,065 investors lost close to Rs. 792 crore. The scam was promoted aggressively on platforms like YouTube, Instagram, Google Ads, and through telecalling networks.
Initially a Business Development Manager, Singh was a key figure in the marketing and digital operations of the scheme. Investigators found that he worked closely with the main accused, Amardeep Kumar (MD of the company), his brother Sandeep Kumar, and others.
Before the police could act in February, Singh fled to Dubai, where he was appointed CEO of Virgio Real Estate, a company floated by Amardeep Kumar. He recently returned to Hyderabad, where he was caught based on credible intelligence.
A case has been registered under section 316(2), 318(4), 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 5 of the Telangana State Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments (TSPDEF) Act, 1999.
Three FIRs — Cr. No. 10/2025, 11/2025, and 12/2025 were initially registered at the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Cyberabad, before being transferred to the CID for further investigation.
The investigation, led by DSP N. Ashok Kumar under the supervision of SP Venkata Laxmi and the overall direction of the CID Director General. Shikha Goel is ongoing. Efforts are underway to apprehend the other absconding accused.
