90 FIRs registered against Revanth Reddy, he files nomination from Kodangal
This is probably the highest number of cases ever registered against a politician in a state
By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 6 Nov 2023 3:24 PM GMTTelangana: A total of 90 FIRs were found to be registered against Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy across different police stations under various sections, according to the election affidavit he filed for the ensuing Telangana State Assembly Elections.
This is probably the highest number of cases ever registered against a politician in a state. The number of FIRs has increased, compared to his 2018 election affidavit when it was 35 FIRs.
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and Kodangal MLA candidate A Revanth Reddy, who is spearheading the election campaign, was accompanied by a battalion of party cadre while he filed his nomination on November 6 in Kodangal.
The Congress party has also decided to field Revanth Reddy against BRS supremo and chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the Kamareddy Assembly seat.
It is pertinent to know that Revanth Reddy will be contesting against P Narender Reddy in Kodangal. Narender Reddy is the sitting BRS MLA there and a relative of Patnam Mahender Reddy. The TPCC president lost the 2018 Assembly elections from Kondangal. However, he went on to win the Malkajgiri Parliamentary seat.
Assets and educational qualifications
NewsMeter combed through the election affidavit of Revanth Reddy and found that Revanth Reddy and his spouse Geetha Jaypal Reddy together own assets worth Rs 28.74 crores.
The amount includes movable assets as per the government rate (cash, deposits vehicles, pistol and rifle, gold and diamonds), and immovable assets (agriculture, commercial properties). While the liabilities sum up to Rs 1.3 crore in bank loans. The couple owns lands in Gopanpally, Nacharam, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, and Nagarkurnool.
Revanth Reddy holds a Bachelorās Degree in Arts from AV College, Affiliated to Osmania University.
āKCR ignored Kodangalā
After filing the nomination, accusing the ruling party of ignoring the people of Kodangal, Revanth Reddy asked the BRS government to explain the āmeritā of the people of Sircilla and Siddipet and the āsinsā committed by Kodangal which led to the government ignoring them.
āKCR has cheated the people of Mahabubnagar who trusted him and sent him to Parliament in the 2009 elections. Why did KCR not do justice to Mahabubnagar in the 10 years following Telanganaās formation?ā He asked and questioned KCRās ignoring his challenge to compete against him in Kodangal.
He said that the Telangana elections are being held between the people of Kodangal region and chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and this election will bring a change in the lives of the people here.
