Srinagar: Kashmir has slipped into mourning after the massacre of 26 tourists and civilians at Pahalgam. For the first time in 35 years, Kashmir is observing a bandh against a terror attack. Local newspapers have gone black and are demanding justice.

A complete shutdown is being observed across the Kashmir Valley in protest against the Pahalgam terror attack. Schools and business establishments are shut. Transport is off the roads. For the first time in 35 years, the Kashmir valley observed a shutdown against a terror attack. Sketches of Pahalgam attack terrorists have been released. According to agencies, the names of three of them are Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah and Abu Talha.
Sources indicate that, All three are linked to Lashkar-e-Toiba and at least two are believed to be foreigners. Meanwhile, Two terrorists have been killed after the army foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control in the Uri sector.

A massive operation has been launched to hunt down the terrorists responsible for the incident. Security forces suspect three to five terrorists' involvement in the massacre.
NIA team is on its way to Srinagar to visit the terror spot in Pahalgam.
Air India and IndiGo will operate four additional flights from Srinagar to the national capital and Mumbai on Wednesday. Airlines have also waived ticket rescheduling and cancellation charges. The Civil Aviation Ministry has asked airlines to ensure there is no surge in airfares on the Srinagar route. The Srinagar-Jammu national highway is blocked due to the landslides. So, pressure is on air travel.
Jammu and Kashmir government announced Rs 10 lakh as ex-gratia relief to the families of the slain and Rs 2 lakh for the grievously injured.
