Telangana: Telangana Congress leaders are set to stage a Satyagraha against the Agneepath scheme in all the assembly constituencies from 11 am to 1 pm. The call for protests has been given by AICC. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President and MP Revanth Reddy will be leading the Satyagraha from Malkajgiri.

Demanding withdrawal of the 'Tuglaqui' decision, the Congress leaders said the scheme is a risk to national security and can trigger discontent among the youth. Calling the short-term recruitment policy 'anti-youth and anti-national', the party said it has been 'bulldozed through without discussion'.

There has been a flurry of offers for 'Agniveers' from the BJP party office to recruit them as security guards post their stint in the armed forces. Congress leaders mocked BJP asking how many jobs have they created till now? The central government's 'Copycat' scheme of the West was highly criticized. Congress said it does not hold good for India.

Secunderabad Railway Station has witnessed large-scale violence due to the scheme. Youth in rural areas who opt for the scheme are discontented as their dreams of securing government jobs have been shattered. Those who look for serving the nation and opt for security forces are now left to fend for other opportunities, Congress leaders said.
