Anantapur: A deep wave of sorrow engulfed Kallithanda village in Gorantla Mandal as the mortal remains of Agniveer Murali Naik were brought back to his native place. The young soldier, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation, was honored with heartfelt tributes from government leaders, officials, and citizens.

Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, along with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, paid their respects to the fallen hero. They met with Murali Naik’s grieving parents, offering condolences and assuring them of the government's unwavering support during this difficult time.

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced that the final rites of Agniveer Murali Naik will be conducted with full state honors. In recognition of his sacrifice, the government has sanctioned a compensation package for his family, including 5 acres of agricultural land, financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh, a 300-yard housing plot, and a government job.

Murali Naik, an Indian Army soldier, was martyred in intense shelling by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.



The shelling occurred during Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory mission launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, including two from Andhra Pradesh.

Unmarried and serving at the front lines, Murali Naik became the first soldier from Andhra Pradesh to lay down his life in the ongoing operation.
