Hyderabad: Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun was released from the back gate of Chanchalguda Jail here on Saturday, amid tight security. The actor was whisked away from the jai back gate to avoid law and order issues and fans gathered at the main gate.

As per the directions of the Telangana High Court, the actor furnished a personal bond of Rs 50,000 before being released. He was accorded under Special Class by the Nampally Court which remanded him for 14 days of judicial custody in connection with the death of a woman during the premiere of his movie Pushpa 2: TheRuleā€Æ at SandhyaTheatre in RTC X roads on December 4.

Just hours after his remand was announced by Nampally court, the actor was granted an interim bail on Friday. Since the order arrived late, he had to spend the night in jail. The copy of the interim bail was uploaded at 10.10 PM on Friday.

According to jail authorities, Allu Arjun had stayed in the Manjeera Barrack(VIP cell) with an attach bathroom.

After being released from the jail, Allu Arjun straightway reached Geetha Arts gallery in Jubilee Hills, instead of going to his residence. Later, the 42-year-old actor was driven to his residence.

"He has been released," Ashok Reddy, his counsel, told reporters at the Chanchalguda prison.

Reddy claimed the prison authorities did not release the actor despite having got the High Court order copy.

"You should question the government and the department why they have not released the accused. The High Court order is very specific. Forthwith, the moment you (prison authorities) receive the order, ( they should) release him. Despite the clear order, they have not released, they have to answer. This is an illegal detention. We will take legal steps,ā€ Reddy said.

According to him, Arjun was kept in the jail as a "special category prisoner". The Pushpa actor was arrested from his residence on Friday morning unfolding a day-long dramatic turn of events.

After the arrest he was produced in a local court which remaded him to 14 days' judicial custody. However, his lawyers moved the HC and secured interim bail.

Allu Arjun was lodged in Chanchalguda prison shortly before the HC spelled its order.

Sandhya Theatre stampede

On December 4, scores of fans swarmed the Sandhya Theatre at RTC X Roads to catch a glimpse of the actor at the Pushpa-2 The Rule premiere. It triggered a stampede-like situation that left a 35-year-old lady dead and her 8-year-old kid hospitalized.

Based on a complaint filed by the family of the deceased, the city police filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security detail, and the theater management under several Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) sections at the Chikkadpally police station.

Allu Arjun last week announced Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased and also assured the grieving family that they are not alone in this painful situation and he will meet the family personally.

Earlier, the police arrested three persons -- one of the owners of the theatre, its senior manager and the lower balcony in charge in connection with the case registered over the death of the woman due to asphyxiation as crowds jostled at the theatre during the premiere show of Allu Arjun's movie.

Allu Arjun on December 11 approached the Telangana High Court seeking to quash the FIR registered against him.

Shortly after Arjun was remanded to judicial custody by the local court on Friday, the high court granted him a four-week interim bail and posted the case to January 21, 2025, for further hearing.

Allu Arjun assures support to Revathi's family

Speaking to media at his residence after his release from Chanchalguda jail, Allu Arjun said, "I respect the law. I am a law-abiding citizen and I will cooperate with them and do the needful. As the case is in the jurisdiction of the court, so with respect to the court I cannot speak more. The stampede incident at Sandhya theater is unfortunate, it is an accidental incident. For the last three decades, I have been visiting the theater and watched every film of mine in the same theater for almost 20 years. I express my condolences to Revathi's family. I will take care of the family in whatever possible way. I canā€™t bring back the life."

The actor also thanked everyone who supported him and asked his fans not to worry about him.
