Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has given the green signal for preparing a master plan to develop Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam as a Divya Kshetram akin to Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy temple.
The issue will be discussed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Srisailam on October 16.
On Sunday, Chandrababu Naidu reviewed Srisailam development with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, and officials at his camp office.
He directed the officials to send proposals for allotting 2000 hectares forest land to Srisailam devastanam for providing additional facilities as devotees from neighbouring Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana visiting the temple in a large number.
Naidu directed that accommodation facilities should be increased without causing any loss to environment, and Srisailam should be connected with national highways.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan suggested the officials to study the development programmes in Sabarimala and other major temples situated in forest region.
A team of officials were asked to meet the Forest Ministry in Delhi for tiger conservation at Srisailam Tiger Reserve, while ensuring that temple development initiatives contributed to preserving greenery and natural heritage.
Along with the development of the temple, steps should be taken for environmental protection. A plan was also asked to be prepared to increase the number of tigers in the sanctuary.
