Andhra police rejig: Three IPS officers transferred; Atul Singh appointed ACB chief

By Sistla Dakshina Murthy Published on 21 Jun 2024 2:43 AM GMTAmaravati: Andhra Pradesh government has appointed senior IPS officer Atul Singh as the new director general of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) till further orders.
A formal order was issued by Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad in this regard.
Before his new posting, Atul Singh, a 1995-batch IPS officer, was serving as the Additional Director General of Police (APSP Battalions). The state government has given him full additional charge as the director general of the ACB till further orders.
Atul Singh would replace senior IPS officer Kasi Reddy VRN Reddy. The 1992-batch IPS officer who was serving as the director general of the ACB was transferred and posted as Commissioner for Printing, Stationery, and Stores Purchase
Atul Singh had worked as Visakhapatnam Commissioner, Greyhounds SP, Chairman of State level Police Recruitment Board, Central Vigilance Commission, and Joint Secretary of Ministry of Sports and looked after Khelo India & Fit India.
Another senior IPS officer (1993 batch) and AP State Disasters Response and Fire Services Director General PV Sunil Kumar is transferred and directed to report to the Government (General Administration Department). Shanka Brata Bagchi, a 1996-batch officer, is placed in full additional charge as the AP State Disasters Response and Fire Services Director General till further orders.
Y Rishanth Reddy, a 2006-batch IPS Officer, Superintendent of Police, Counter Intelligence (CI) Cell is transferred and directed to report to the DGP (HOPF) Office. He is also relieved from the full Additional Charge of the post of SP (Red Sanders) Task Force. The DGP (HOPF) shall make alternative arrangements for the post of SP (Counter Intelligence) and SP (Red Sanders) Task Force till further orders.
