Another of Nanis films goes to OTT; Tuck Jagadish to release on Amazon Prime

Hyderabad: Theatres in Hyderabad have opened but people aren't ready yet to rush to the theatres in view of the dreaded third wave of COVID-19. The results and collections of the two films which released last week in theatres were quite disappointing. At the same time, the Andhra Pradesh government's indecision about ticket prices has further added to the woes of filmmakers.

Shine Screens, the makers of Nani's upcoming film 'Tuck Jagadish', has decided to release the film on OTT sans a theatrical release amid the current situation. The cast and crew of the film had been waiting to release the film in theatres for a long time now. But due to the circumstances, it does not look like that will happen. The film is now set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video and the speculated date is 10 September.

'Tuck Jagadish' was set to hit the screens in April but was delayed due to the lockdown brought on by the second wave of COVID-19. Once the lockdown restriction eased, the team resumed shooting for the film recently and wrapped up the project. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film stars Jagapathi Babu, Nassar, Ritu Verma, Aishwarya Rajesh, and others in lead roles.

During the first COVID-19 wave and the first lockdown, Nani' film 'V', directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti had released on Amazon Prime Video directly. 'Tuck Jagadish' marks Nani's second release on OTT. An official confirmation from the team about the release date is awaited.

Recently, at the pre-release event of 'Thimmarusu', Nani said theatres were the ones to be shut first and the last to be reopened during the lockdown. The government should intervene and make things better for the theatres, he had added.
