AP: 3 capital, ESI scam, Jagan challenges opposition to discuss issues in assembly
Jagan gave an open offer to the TDP leader Acham Naidu to raise any issue on the floor of the House.
By Sri Lakshmi Muttevi Published on 15 Sep 2022 8:16 AM GMTAmaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today said the government is ready to discuss the ESI scam and three capitals issue during the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly. "Be it ESI scam or three-capitals, we are ready to discuss anything that TDP likes to raise in the House," Jagan said during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting.
The BAC meeting was chaired by Legislative Assembly Speaker Taminneni Sitaram. It was informed that the government has agreed to discuss 17 issues proposed by the opposition. The five-day session will conclude on September 21.
Jagan gave an open offer to the TDP leader Acham Naidu to raise any issue on the floor of the House. He asked the opposition to cooperate during the session.
Monsoon session begins
The monsoon session of Andhra Pradesh commenced amid protests by the TDP leaders. During question hour, opposition leaders raised slogans against the government. They came to the well of the House and staged protests. "We will not tolerate a word against the chief minister. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has asked his party members to interrupt the session", said Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath
Later speaking to the media, the ministers blamed the opposition for wasting time by interrupting the question hour. "TDP wants Amaravati as sole capital for real estate development. But we are for three-capital development. Nara Lokesh is a useless fellow who couldn't even get elected as a ward member during his father's rule. Chandra Babu Naidu was unable to give jobs during his 14 years of rule. CM Jagan provided jobs for the unemployed in 3 years", said Tourism Minister Roja. She asked why TDP is speaking about jobs when no one was given employment during their rule.
The 5-day session will discuss three capitals in the state. It will also discuss housing, irrigation projects, and the creation of new districts. The government would also discuss the investment projects for three years.
Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu would not attend the session as he had vowed not to be part until he becomes Chief Minister again. This followed alleged comments made by some of the ruling party members against his family members in the House.
