This comes in just a week before the Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the state. The complaint in the case was lodged by Varla Ramaih National general secretary and politburo member of TDP.
As per the complaint, YSRCP has purported a malicious and false campaign against Naidu through Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) misleading the voters and pensioners.
They alleged that the YSRCP is misleading the public by spreading false information, and promoting enmity and hatred between two groups - criminal conspiracy.
This was also found to be a gross violation of the election model code of conduct (MCC). The MCC guidelines prohibit the spread of unverified allegations and restrict criticism of policies, programs, and past records.
A few hours back, Election Commission of India ordered the transfer of Andhra Pradesh DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy. ECI also asked for the submission of a list with the names of three officers to the panel.
The ECI took the decision reportedly following the complaint filed by the Opposition Telugu Desam Party. There were also earlier incidents when TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the DGP has failed to control the law and order in the state, including mining activities, and anti-social elements.
In April, ECI transferred Andhra Pradesh intelligence chief P Sitaramanjaneyulu and Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanthi Rana Tata. This follows the stone pelting on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Vijayawada recently.
ECI was not happy with Andhra Pradesh police after the stone pelting on Jagan, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu at Gajuwaka, and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan at Tenali,
